Sorry For The Delay | EP.145 | Sushi Tears, Birthday Smoke & Dark Energy

This week, Joshua celebrates birthday season with smoked blackberry whiskey, while Sean turns a Seattle trip into rooftop drinks, a 20% apple-wine experiment & a sushi dinner emotional enough to require three separate cries (the flounder found the unlock code). 00:00 Welcome to episode 145 of Sorry for the

00:04

00:04 Delay. [music] I'm your editor, Mia.

00:06

00:06 This week, Joshua celebrates birthday

00:08

00:08 season with smoked blackberry whiskey.

00:10

00:10 While Sean turns a [music] Seattle

00:12

00:12 station into rooftop drinks, a 20% apple

00:15

00:15 wine experiment, and a sushi dinner

00:17

00:17 emotional enough to require three

00:19

00:19 separate cries, the flounder really

00:21

00:21 broke through his walls. Then it's

00:22

00:22 Zodiac compatibility, rapid fire

00:25

00:25 friendship questions, suspiciously

00:27

00:27 valuable Funkos, and six overpowered

00:29

00:29 [music] creatures entering the newly

00:30

00:30 formed Dark Energy Theater. Enjoy the

00:33

00:33 show. Hello and welcome to another

00:36

00:36 episode of Sorry for a Little Late. We

00:38

00:38 are your hosts. My name is Sean and

00:40

00:40 right over there is the wonderful, the

00:43

00:43 lovely, the sensual Joshua. Joshua, this

00:47

00:47 is episode

00:49

00:49 145. One, two, 145. Odd number. We're

00:52

00:52 gonna get weird. Uh, with that being

00:54

00:54 said, buddy, how are you doing this

00:58

00:58 wonderful, wonderful week?

01:00

01:00 >> I mean, every time I get out and play

01:02

01:02 golf before we start the podcast, it's a

01:05

01:05 great it's a great day. So, I did

01:09

01:09 I I you know, I may have to can I admit,

01:12

01:12 you know, I might have played a little

01:13

01:13 hookie today.

01:14

01:14 >> Just just a little just a little bit.

01:17

01:17 You know, honesty is is one of my strong

01:19

01:19 suits. thought maybe I I played hookie a

01:21

01:21 little bit. Um, but it did me well and I

01:23

01:23 did it well cuz I spent some time out in

01:26

01:26 the sun and I feel good. I feel great.

01:29

01:29 Uh, vitamin D is is key in uh healthy

01:32

01:32 living. So, if you're afraid of it, I'm

01:34

01:34 sorry. Um, get more D in your life

01:38

01:38 because it's good for you. All I can

01:40

01:40 say. But yeah, I feel great, buddy.

01:41

01:41 Thanks for asking. Uh, thank you to all

01:43

01:43 the new subscribers. Thank you for

01:45

01:45 everybody who's joining us and listening

01:46

01:46 to us wherever you're at across the

01:48

01:48 globe or um right outside our the studio

01:50

01:50 here. Appreciate every listen and every

01:52

01:52 view and every follow. Uh but I feel

01:54

01:54 great.

01:55

01:55 >> What people don't know about Joshua is

01:57

01:57 that uh right next to him is a window

01:59

01:59 and there are lines of fans out there

02:02

02:02 always cheering and yelling, asking to

02:04

02:04 come into the studio, but Joshua has to

02:06

02:06 fend him off with like sticks and stuff

02:08

02:08 like that. So I'm I'm glad you were able

02:10

02:10 to get through that chaos, buddy. So, I

02:12

02:12 appreciate that and thank you for making

02:13

02:13 time for us. You know,

02:14

02:14 >> I'm super humble. I wouldn't even know

02:15

02:15 what to do with a fan, you know, if I

02:18

02:18 actually had a fan

02:19

02:19 >> to turn them on is what you should do.

02:21

02:21 >> Would like, dude, that'd be very awkward

02:23

02:23 for me. But yeah, buddy, I I feel super

02:26

02:26 good. Uh, I have to say before say

02:28

02:28 before we get too deep into this

02:29

02:29 episode,

02:30

02:30 >> we are now in August and August is a

02:34

02:34 wonderful wonderful maybe that's why I

02:35

02:35 also feel great about this episode and

02:37

02:37 and where we're at today because it's

02:39

02:39 August 4th and a special somebody in my

02:42

02:42 life. It's their birthday today. So, I

02:44

02:44 have to I can't get too far into them.

02:46

02:46 So, I just have to say happy birthday to

02:48

02:48 my girlfriend. Um it's been a I've had

02:51

02:51 an amazing time with her in my life and

02:53

02:53 um I'm just very appreciative of uh

02:55

02:55 being a part of hers and you know uh

02:58

02:58 don't ask me how old she is because

02:59

02:59 that's just kind of rude but um it is

03:02

03:02 her birthday and uh happy August if it

03:05

03:05 is your birthday as well in August

03:06

03:06 mine's coming up as well. Um happy

03:08

03:08 birthday to you too. It's a great month.

03:09

03:09 It's a fun month.

03:10

03:10 >> Yeah,

03:11

03:11 >> it's gonna be a fun episode.

03:12

03:12 >> Yeah. Happy birthday to your significant

03:14

03:14 other. I know they don't listen so

03:16

03:16 that's fine. How do you know they don't

03:18

03:18 listen?

03:18

03:18 >> Oh, I talk to them all the time, boy.

03:21

03:21 >> Come on, buddy. Jesus Christ.

03:23

03:23 >> Yeah.

03:24

03:24 >> Anyways, with that being said, buddy,

03:26

03:26 hey, let's jump right into what is in

03:29

03:29 our cups this week. Uh, I know you got

03:31

03:31 something you got something devilish

03:32

03:32 over there. I can feel it. I can feel it

03:35

03:35 feel

03:36

03:36 a [ __ ] glass of whiskey. I can feel

03:39

03:39 that. Show us what you got.

03:41

03:41 >> Yeah, I I'm being pretty mischievous. Uh

03:43

03:43 before I show off what I got, Sean, I

03:44

03:44 have to answer your question because

03:46

03:46 [snorts] last week in the beginning of

03:48

03:48 the episode, you did ask, "Do people

03:50

03:50 smoke

03:51

03:51 >> their uh coffee?" And yes, they do. Um

03:56

03:56 that did not come through in the

03:57

03:57 comments. I wish I would have. One of

03:58

03:58 you guys would have just updated us

03:60

03:60 faster than I can search. Um but I went

04:02

04:02 out and did my own research and and

04:03

04:03 there is ways to smoke your own coffee.

04:06

04:06 I'm not going to go over them all even

04:08

04:08 though I have them on my left over here.

04:10

04:10 There's a whole lineup of the way you

04:12

04:12 can do it and how the flavors and

04:13

04:13 everything you can get from it. But

04:15

04:15 Sean, you are absolutely correct. You

04:16

04:16 can smoke coffee. And uh maybe one of

04:18

04:18 these fine days I will show off some

04:20

04:20 smoked coffee. But instead of showing

04:23

04:23 off smoked coffee, Sean, I'm going to

04:26

04:26 show off one of our other favorites. And

04:29

04:29 this is going to be one of those

04:31

04:31 >> smoked whiskey. And this isn't just a

04:33

04:33 smoked whiskey. I went ahead and muddled

04:35

04:35 up some blackberries, okay,

04:37

04:37 >> in the bottom of this. And I smoked it

04:39

04:39 out with some cherrywood. Um, so this is

04:43

04:43 a black berry smoked cherrywood whiskey

04:47

04:47 with my classic knob creek. Look at

04:49

04:49 those colors. Look at that. Look at

04:50

04:50 that. So devilish like you said.

04:51

04:51 >> That's beautiful, buddy.

04:53

04:53 >> See, I knew you had something up your

04:55

04:55 sleeve.

04:57

04:57 >> That is That's magical. That is magical,

05:01

05:01 buddy.

05:02

05:02 >> Okay. Like a summer kiss or what?

05:04

05:04 >> Yeah. Oh, like more than a summer kiss.

05:06

05:06 Like I just made out and slobbered all

05:08

05:08 over somebody for this one. Um

05:10

05:10 >> yeah, dude. It's it's it's look how look

05:13

05:13 how nice it is. Look at the look at the

05:14

05:14 look.

05:15

05:15 >> Oh, so good, man. Try it.

05:16

05:16 >> That looks good, dude. That honestly

05:18

05:18 looks really good. Looks really good.

05:19

05:19 >> Smoke it out. Uh try it out if you

05:21

05:21 haven't had one of these. Um yeah, so

05:23

05:23 I've been eating a lot of fresh fruit

05:24

05:24 and so why not just throw some of this

05:25

05:25 in a drink, buddy. So cheers. This is

05:28

05:28 what is in my cup for this episode.

05:30

05:30 August 4th, 145. What do you got in your

05:32

05:32 cup over there?

05:33

05:33 >> Nice, my dude. Um, so we're going to

05:35

05:35 talk about this a little bit later in

05:36

05:36 the episode, but uh to bring this full

05:40

05:40 circle,

05:41

05:41 uh, I had a little, uh, station, if you

05:44

05:44 will, and one of the places I went to is

05:46

05:46 a cider place up here, uh, cider

05:49

05:49 porehouse, uh, named Schilling. I know,

05:52

05:52 very small company. I've had many of

05:54

05:54 their cers. Actually, Joshua, I've had

05:56

05:56 pretty much all of their cers that they

05:57

05:57 make at the moment. Uh, but they had

06:01

06:01 something I did not have and I'm going

06:03

06:03 to have it for the first time here. Uh,

06:04

06:04 I've never had this. I took forever to

06:07

06:07 open it cuz it's weirdly weirdly capped

06:10

06:10 off. I'll show you right now. Uh, but to

06:12

06:12 drink it with I'm I have uh the shilling

06:16

06:16 uh strawberry one, the rhubarb one, the

06:18

06:18 rhub awakening. Uh, so this is going to

06:20

06:20 be my mixer uh to what I have here,

06:22

06:22 buddy. And this is It's kind of heavy.

06:26

06:26 Sorry. I got to use two hands. That's a

06:28

06:28 big old butt. Okay.

06:29

06:29 >> So, this is this is a barrelaged apple

06:34

06:34 wine. All right. So, it's 20%. If you

06:37

06:37 want to read the back, you guys can

06:38

06:38 read. Go ahead and pause and just read

06:40

06:40 the back right there. Uh, but I'm going

06:42

06:42 to go ahead and first of all open this.

06:45

06:45 So, that I [ __ ] decimated this top,

06:47

06:47 by the way. Like, it's a like this top

06:49

06:49 is [  ] ruined. It was all [  ]

06:51

06:51 Look. So, the front part it looked like

06:53

06:53 that. It looked waxy. And so, I tried to

06:56

06:56 take it off and you couldn't. So then I

06:57

06:57 had to like devilishly pull this thing

06:60

06:60 apart with a knife and scissors. Uh but

07:03

07:03 I'm going to go ahead and open it. So

07:04

07:04 give me a second.

07:06

07:06 >> I feel like you should have just looked

07:07

07:07 up how to properly remove a waxed cap.

07:11

07:11 >> Yeah, probably. But daddy ain't doing

07:13

07:13 that. So here we go. So I'm going to

07:14

07:14 smell it. Oo, buddy. It smells like uh

07:19

07:19 caramel apples. It smells

07:23

07:23 It smells like a a a nice fruity rum. Uh

07:27

07:27 so this is basically apple brandy uh

07:29

07:29 that they I guess created. Uh so I'm

07:32

07:32 going to sip it for the first time and

07:33

07:33 then I'm going to pour a shot uh into my

07:35

07:35 cup over here. And I have two things. So

07:37

07:37 I'm not going to go crazy today, but I'm

07:38

07:38 going to do a little sippy sip. Little

07:40

07:40 sippy sip here. Little little chugy chug

07:42

07:42 right over the right over the computer.

07:44

07:44 That's That's not good.

07:45

07:45 >> That's sketchy.

07:46

07:46 >> Well, here we go. A little sip. Little

07:48

07:48 smell. Oh, smells good.

07:56

07:56 Um,

07:57

07:57 >> what does that mean? What What does that

07:59

07:59 mean?

07:59

07:59 >> It means it needs to be mixed.

08:02

08:02 >> Okay. All right.

08:02

08:02 >> It tastes honestly it tastes like an

08:04

08:04 apple syrup. Like if you you know uh

08:06

08:06 like you know blueberry syrup, Joshua,

08:08

08:08 if you replace the blueberry syrup with

08:11

08:11 apple flavor, that's exactly what this

08:13

08:13 tastes like. So, it's kind of it's it's

08:15

08:15 exciting. Uh, not the very best on its

08:18

08:18 own, but [clears throat] definitely it's

08:20

08:20 gonna [ __ ] taste good with this

08:22

08:22 [ __ ] strawberry thing over here. So,

08:24

08:24 I'm gonna pour all this together. Um,

08:26

08:26 I'm going to do this over here while

08:28

08:28 Joshua uh gives us a question of the day

08:31

08:31 because I know he has one. Uh, I can ask

08:33

08:33 him.

08:34

08:34 >> He He's got a whole plethora of

08:36

08:36 questions of the day. Uh, so Joshua, you

08:38

08:38 give us a question of the day while I

08:39

08:39 pour this into my cup over here. Okay.

08:41

08:41 >> I I I don't think I have a question of

08:44

08:44 the day. Sean did not we did not figure

08:46

08:46 this out either. [laughter] I think the

08:48

08:48 question I have of

08:49

08:49 >> I've seen him.

08:50

08:50 >> No, I I don't think I have act I don't

08:52

08:52 think I have a question of the day. But

08:53

08:53 what I do have is I'm just curious how

08:56

08:56 Sean came across this bottle. If there's

08:58

08:58 if there's a question the question would

08:60

09:00 be for you Sean. Did you see this like

09:03

09:03 as an actual mix like on like did it

09:07

09:07 come through on a Tik Tok or something

09:08

09:08 or like how did you figure out

09:10

09:10 >> we went to pair these two is what? We

09:13

09:13 went to the shilling pore house, right?

09:14

09:14 Um, and they had they had a little sign

09:18

09:18 that said, "Hey, get a shot of this in

09:20

09:20 your uh cider like as an extra fee." And

09:23

09:23 I was like, "The [ __ ] is that?" And so I

09:25

09:25 didn't do it cuz I wanted there to be a

09:27

09:27 moment where I got this and we did it

09:29

09:29 here live on this podcast. Uh, so I saw

09:32

09:32 it there, got it. This thing was [ __ ]

09:34

09:34 60 bucks. So cheers buddy. But yeah,

09:37

09:37 that's where I saw it. It was just

09:38

09:38 there, you know, just chilling. So,

09:41

09:41 >> all right. I mean, now that you've

09:43

09:43 you're getting through all that, I kind

09:44

09:44 of do have a question. I was just

09:46

09:46 kidding.

09:46

09:46 >> Oh, wonderful. See, I knew we had one.

09:48

09:48 >> Yeah. Go for it. I'm just pouring it

09:49

09:49 into my

09:50

09:50 >> Made this up. Yeah. Um Okay. So, the

09:52

09:52 question I have because this is a

09:53

09:53 birthday month and u me and my

09:57

09:57 girlfriend are the same zodiac sign.

09:60

09:60 >> Oh, okay.

10:00

10:00 >> Do you do you think uh do you put much

10:04

10:04 thought into compatibility when it comes

10:07

10:07 to zodiac signs?

10:08

10:08 >> No, not at all, dude. Not at all. Like

10:10

10:10 not even in the slightest, man. Because

10:12

10:12 I feel like you will know if you're

10:15

10:15 compatible with somebody no matter what

10:17

10:17 their sign is, you know? Um it just the

10:20

10:20 way personalities work. I guess

10:22

10:22 >> that's the way love works or what.

10:23

10:23 >> Yeah. If it works, it works. That's the

10:25

10:25 way love works.

10:26

10:26 >> Yeah. Exactly. You know, if you're

10:27

10:27 compatible, you're compatible with each

10:29

10:29 other. You know, I don't need a [ __ ]

10:30

10:30 zodiac sign to tell me that I love you.

10:32

10:32 You know,

10:33

10:33 >> no, I don't think so.

10:35

10:35 >> Okay. Would you like to put words in my

10:37

10:37 mouth and guess like what how I feel

10:39

10:39 about this topic?

10:39

10:39 >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, I know how you feel

10:41

10:41 about this. You're all about the stars

10:42

10:42 and the cosmos. So, you're like, "Well,

10:44

10:44 if the zodiac sign equals love, then the

10:46

10:46 zodiac sign is right." So, I think uh I

10:49

10:49 think we have a stronger love because

10:50

10:50 our zodiac signs are the same. Blah blah

10:52

10:52 blah blah blah. Am I right? Is that is

10:54

10:54 that

10:55

10:55 >> He hates He hates that. He hates that.

10:57

10:57 [laughter]

10:58

10:58 >> Am I right? Am I right or wrong?

10:59

10:59 >> No, you're you're absolutely right. I

11:01

11:01 think compatib compatibility comes in

11:03

11:03 all shapes and sizes. And it just so

11:05

11:05 happens more often than not if your

11:08

11:08 zodiac signs are compatible, you will

11:11

11:11 find love and friendship and with all of

11:15

11:15 that within a sign to each other. Just

11:17

11:17 saying. So, I do believe in that and uh

11:20

11:20 I will keep believing in it because it's

11:22

11:22 working for me. So hopefully if you're

11:24

11:24 listening and you find that sign that

11:26

11:26 that you know gets you through hard

11:28

11:28 times or whatever it is, that

11:29

11:29 compatibility, friendship, partnership,

11:31

11:31 whatever it is, uh do it, man. Do it.

11:33

11:33 Find it works for you.

11:34

11:34 >> Nice, man. Um before we move on, buddy,

11:36

11:36 I just took a sip uh of the concoction.

11:39

11:39 And let me just say what it added to

11:42

11:42 this Rube Awakening is actually a bit of

11:46

11:46 umami. Uh it is it has a

11:49

11:49 >> a better finish on the back end. So,

11:52

11:52 it's a a much sweeter,

11:55

11:55 smooth, soft pallet finish rather than a

11:58

11:58 little bit like tartness that you got

11:59

11:59 from this. So, it it definitely you can

12:01

12:01 definitely taste the sweetness of that.

12:03

12:03 And uh Papa going to be flying right

12:06

12:06 here in a minute. Papa,

12:08

12:08 >> okay, you you've called yourself papa.

12:10

12:10 You've called yourself daddy on there.

12:12

12:12 What's going on here, dude? Are you like

12:14

12:14 are you reading too much into this baby

12:16

12:16 we had together? Yes. Are are you just

12:18

12:18 like

12:19

12:19 >> little baby Clementine? She's she's

12:21

12:21 everything to me right now, buddy. She's

12:22

12:22 she's my entire world right now, bro.

12:24

12:24 Like,

12:25

12:25 >> right.

12:25

12:25 >> I don't know. I don't know how to

12:26

12:26 explain it. You know, you just once you

12:28

12:28 reach that point of maturity, you just

12:30

12:30 become papa. You become uh become daddy.

12:34

12:34 You know, just, you know, all the words

12:36

12:36 that uh that make you want to cringe,

12:39

12:39 buddy. And speaking of cringing,

12:42

12:42 we have a whole bunch of new

12:43

12:43 subscribers. That makes me cringe. And I

12:46

12:46 feel like we needed to have an episode

12:49

12:49 where we talk about who we are like us

12:53

12:53 in general. So buddy, I have a question

12:55

12:55 for you that is

12:58

12:58 >> what words make you cringe?

13:02

13:02 >> What words?

13:02

13:02 >> That's my question of the day. Cringe.

13:04

13:04 >> Yeah. What is What are the words that

13:06

13:06 make you cringe? Like I was saying papa

13:08

13:08 and daddy to see if I can get a reaction

13:09

13:09 out of you. Clearly, it did. It did get

13:11

13:11 you a little bit, but not to the point

13:13

13:13 where, for example, if I say the word

13:16

13:16 moist, people seem to like flip their

13:19

13:19 [ __ ] right?

13:20

13:20 >> That's true. That's That's true.

13:22

13:22 >> So, do you have any of those words that

13:23

13:23 are just like nails on a chalkboard?

13:25

13:25 >> Oh, man. I don't I don't know if I have

13:28

13:28 any words that

13:30

13:30 that uh that make me cringe. I I don't

13:33

13:33 know. I don't know. I I think I think

13:35

13:35 [snorts] they're not really cringey

13:37

13:37 words. It's just when you when you

13:38

13:38 describe somebody as like stupid,

13:41

13:41 >> you know, when you when you say it's

13:43

13:43 it's like one of those like

13:45

13:45 >> like you're questioning their

13:46

13:46 intelligence and you're belittling them

13:48

13:48 or just I think any words that kind of

13:50

13:50 just like degrades somebody

13:53

13:53 >> maybe can be cringey in context, I guess

13:55

13:55 you could say. Like every word has

13:57

13:57 meaning in like you're talking about a

13:58

13:58 cake. Oh dude, I love a moist cake, you

14:00

14:00 know?

14:01

14:01 >> Yeah. Yeah.

14:01

14:01 >> Like for me that that makes sense. So

14:03

14:03 that's not cringey. So, I think context

14:06

14:06 when it comes to cringey

14:08

14:08 >> vocabulary that that's probably where it

14:10

14:10 would strike a chord. Like it just has

14:12

14:12 to for context would make me cringe

14:13

14:13 versus the word itself. If that makes

14:15

14:15 sense.

14:16

14:16 >> Okay. Yeah. No, it makes sense. Makes

14:17

14:17 sense. Yeah. So, out of context,

14:20

14:20 you would probably find the word moist

14:22

14:22 to be a little cringey. Is that what

14:23

14:23 you're saying?

14:24

14:24 >> I No, cuz I mean I'm a fan of moist. You

14:26

14:26 know what I mean? I mean I mean I I

14:30

14:30 would take moist over dry

14:33

14:33 >> under in under under most circumstances

14:36

14:36 if you want to put it into any kind of

14:39

14:39 spherical uh uh just just having to make

14:42

14:42 sense. Yes. Moist. I don't I don't want

14:46

14:46 to be [laughter]

14:46

14:46 >> Can I ask another

14:47

14:47 >> to be dry?

14:48

14:48 >> What about the word dono? How do you

14:51

14:51 feel about that word?

14:53

14:53 >> Uh dono is a it's a name, right? I it's

14:56

14:56 to me it's just a word. It's like an

14:58

14:58 action, you know. Gonimo. You're donoing

15:01

15:01 on something, you know. [laughter]

15:04

15:04 Usually it's something

15:08

15:08 >> or like to jump [laughter] off of

15:09

15:09 something. It's the the thing you shout

15:11

15:11 when you're jumping off things, you

15:12

15:12 know, dono.

15:13

15:13 >> Gonna mowing my lawn. Like, [laughter]

15:16

15:16 what the [ __ ] are we doing? You know

15:17

15:17 what I'm saying? Listen, the reason I

15:19

15:19 ask is because I had a conversation with

15:21

15:21 a coworker

15:23

15:23 >> who finds the word Geronimo to be very

15:26

15:26 cringy and I don't know how how to feel

15:29

15:29 about that because I don't think it is.

15:31

15:31 Um, it's definitely like a a your age

15:34

15:34 kind of word, you know, like a a real

15:36

15:36 boomer word, you know, you don't really

15:38

15:38 you don't really use it in the in the

15:40

15:40 lexicon of of the now, right? So, I feel

15:43

15:43 like that's probably not cringy, but I

15:47

15:47 can see the points that they were

15:48

15:48 making.

15:49

15:49 >> So, I don't know. I just thought I just

15:51

15:51 thought you would have a word or

15:53

15:53 something that uh that would actually

15:55

15:55 make you cringe. But,

15:56

15:56 >> no, I more context for me, honestly.

15:59

15:59 Context.

16:01

16:01 >> No, just no, it's just context. I I

16:03

16:03 think that's what it comes down to.

16:04

16:04 Like, you know, everything has context.

16:06

16:06 And so, if you take things remove things

16:08

16:08 from context, it can get a little weird.

16:10

16:10 And I think that's where definition and

16:13

16:13 how you're using it and you know you use

16:16

16:16 Toronto in movies. I mean again context

16:18

16:18 like what are you using it for? Moist. I

16:21

16:21 love moist. That's a great word. I can't

16:23

16:23 wait for people to skip this episode.

16:25

16:25 [laughter] Just using that word over and

16:27

16:27 over again. Sorry everybody. Uh if

16:29

16:29 that's not your fancy. Joshua, let's

16:31

16:31 head on over to the chat with us section

16:32

16:32 where we can discover some other fancies

16:35

16:35 you may have. Uh the chat with the

16:36

16:36 section for those of you who are brand

16:38

16:38 new here. Hello, welcome. We are Sean

16:39

16:39 and Joshua. your two new best friends.

16:41

16:41 Uh the chat with the section is the

16:43

16:43 topics are the topics that we're going

16:44

16:44 to talk about for the week. Uh and maybe

16:46

16:46 one of them will entertain you, maybe

16:48

16:48 one of them won't. Uh hopefully they all

16:50

16:50 do. Uh but here they are as followed.

16:54

16:54 Number one is Sean's Bite of Seattle.

16:58

16:58 Number two is Falling in Love. Number

17:01

17:01 three is Popcorn Passions. And number

17:05

17:05 four this week is going to be dark

17:06

17:06 energy theater which is going to be a

17:09

17:09 preview for something that we are doing

17:11

17:11 next week. Uh which is pretty exciting.

17:13

17:13 So stick around for that one. Uh but

17:15

17:15 Joshua before we even start this one cuz

17:17

17:17 this first topic is definitely about me

17:18

17:18 cuz that has my name in it. Uh let me

17:20

17:20 just say sorry for the delayed dot live.

17:23

17:23 Come check us out. Uh that is our

17:25

17:25 website where you can find all this

17:26

17:26 beautiful merch that we wear every

17:28

17:28 single week. Uh this is the summer wean

17:31

17:31 shirt. This is the sunrise

17:33

17:33 variant of this shirt. It is available

17:35

17:35 over there on Sorry for Little. And

17:38

17:38 also, I just wanted to give everybody a

17:40

17:40 reminder of our podcast release

17:42

17:42 schedules. So, we release podcasts every

17:45

17:45 Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. on the website.

17:48

17:48 Sorry for the delay. And 5:00 a.m. on

17:51

17:51 Spotify, iTunes, and pretty much

17:53

17:53 everywhere you get your audio versions.

17:55

17:55 Um, every Tuesday after Tuesday,

17:58

17:58 Wednesday through Monday, we put out a

18:00

18:00 short on the daily. So, if you just want

18:02

18:02 little tidbits of just uh fun times that

18:05

18:05 we had in this podcast episode, you can

18:07

18:07 catch them there. A lot of people tend

18:08

18:08 to do that more often with the short

18:10

18:10 form content, and I completely

18:11

18:11 understand. I get it. And uh we hope we

18:14

18:14 can entertain you with that stuff, too.

18:16

18:16 I know the Jimothy one was pretty funny

18:18

18:18 that a lot of people

18:19

18:19 >> [laughter]

18:19

18:19 >> uh took liking, too. So, hey, shout out

18:22

18:22 to Jimothy. Uh, but just wanted to shout

18:24

18:24 us out real quick before we went into

18:26

18:26 this episode because then this again,

18:27

18:27 this episode's going to be more of a a

18:28

18:28 get to know us episode. We do these on

18:30

18:30 occasion once we hit certain milestones

18:32

18:32 with Joshua and I behind the scenes uh

18:34

18:34 just to let people know who we are and

18:36

18:36 what we do and kind of all that same

18:38

18:38 action. So, we'll get to uh we'll get to

18:40

18:40 a little bit of that uh throughout the

18:42

18:42 episode. So, Joshua, I'm ready to talk

18:45

18:45 about my Seattle trip, my little

18:49

18:49 station, if you will indulge me, buddy.

18:52

18:52 Yeah. Okay. I'm here.

18:54

18:54 >> You know,

18:54

18:54 >> the audience is here. We are here for

18:57

18:57 set the stage. Let's do it. You bought

18:58

18:58 the ticket. Now, give us the show.

19:00

19:00 [laughter]

19:01

19:01 >> So, first of all, I got to acknowledge

19:03

19:03 this real quick. Um, there was a

19:05

19:05 shooting in the bite of Seattle on

19:08

19:08 Sunday. Uh, we were not there. The old

19:11

19:11 lady and I were not there on Sunday. So,

19:13

19:13 we are perfectly fine. Our hearts and

19:15

19:15 condolences go out to everybody who was

19:17

19:17 affected. Uh that [ __ ] should never

19:20

19:20 happen, but it does. So just be safe out

19:23

19:23 there, people. Be aware of your

19:24

19:24 surroundings and um just want to shout

19:27

19:27 everybody out and say stay safe. Now,

19:31

19:31 let me start with we stayed at a

19:34

19:34 different hotel this year, Joshua. We

19:36

19:36 usually stay at a uh I was going to say

19:38

19:38 a Best Western, but we don't even stay

19:40

19:40 at a Best Western. We stay at a Marriott

19:41

19:41 usually. Uh that's right by the water. I

19:43

19:43 don't have any pictures for this cuz I

19:45

19:45 was too lazy to do all this stuff. Uh,

19:46

19:46 so I'm just going to explain it to you

19:47

19:47 as best as I can. So, we stayed at a

19:49

19:49 different hotel.

19:50

19:50 >> Question. Yeah.

19:51

19:51 >> Okay. Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt,

19:52

19:52 but do you prefer to stay at a hotel

19:54

19:54 because like it's just more convenient?

19:56

19:56 Like you got to lock in to the festival?

19:59

19:59 Like why would you recommend staying at

20:00

20:00 the hotel, I guess, is

20:02

20:02 >> Yeah. So, what we were doing was a

20:03

20:03 little station. So, we wanted to go for

20:05

20:05 about 4 days. So, it's just easier and

20:08

20:08 more convenient for us to stay at a

20:09

20:09 hotel. uh because then you don't have to

20:11

20:11 worry about like having to drive home or

20:14

20:14 you know getting too inebriated and I'll

20:16

20:16 get to that. Um but [laughter]

20:20

20:20 uh we just wanted to we just wanted to

20:22

20:22 be closer to everything, right? So f so

20:25

20:25 from so we got there Friday uh we did

20:27

20:27 the bite to Seattle. We had a few

20:28

20:28 different foods uh but none of those

20:31

20:31 like we had food but it was fine. There

20:33

20:33 was nothing really to write home about.

20:35

20:35 The one experience that I had that was

20:37

20:37 great though is they had a beer and

20:40

20:40 garden uh beer garden beer and garden.

20:43

20:43 [laughter] Beer garden um in the middle

20:47

20:47 of the uh the fountain area by the Space

20:50

20:50 Needle.

20:51

20:51 >> Okay.

20:52

20:52 >> And this beer garden was in the shade.

20:57

20:57 Like it was a there was a big old tree

20:59

20:59 and it was just in the shade, buddy. And

21:01

21:01 we were lucky enough to get two like uh

21:04

21:04 plastic aderandac chairs and sit there

21:07

21:07 with like glasses of wine that we were

21:10

21:10 buying. We bought like four glasses of

21:11

21:11 wine each and we were just chilling

21:13

21:13 there for like an hour and a half, two

21:15

21:15 hours just relaxing and enjoying the

21:17

21:17 sunshine cuz it was a beautiful [ __ ]

21:19

21:19 day. Um and that was the highlight of

21:22

21:22 this year's Bite to Seattle for us was

21:24

21:24 wasn't the food, wasn't anything like

21:25

21:25 that. It was sitting on those lounge

21:27

21:27 chairs, drinking wine, enjoying the

21:29

21:29 summer sunshine. It was wonderful. I

21:31

21:31 loved it. Um, cut two. Later that day,

21:36

21:36 uh, we went back to the hotel, freshened

21:38

21:38 up, and then, uh, what did we do? We

21:41

21:41 [ __ ] I think we just partied it up

21:42

21:42 that night, you know? We were just

21:44

21:44 dancing and doing a whole bunch of fun

21:45

21:45 stuff. Saturday was a little different.

21:49

21:49 Saturday, we went to a place called

21:52

21:52 Bainbridge Island. Uh, and we had to

21:54

21:54 take a ferry, which is if you're going

21:56

21:56 to the Seattle area, I recommend doing

21:59

21:59 this ferry at least once, taking the

22:00

22:00 Banebridge Ferry, because it gives you

22:03

22:03 one of the best Seattle views on the

22:06

22:06 water. So, you take the ferry, it takes

22:08

22:08 you to the island, but as you're

22:10

22:10 leaving, you get this wonderful [ __ ]

22:13

22:13 view of the entire city or the entire

22:16

22:16 um, I guess you could say lake view of

22:19

22:19 Seattle. It's very amazing, very

22:21

22:21 beautiful. highly recommend it. Uh, but

22:23

22:23 we went to Banebridge for fish and chips

22:26

22:26 which were just mediocre and we

22:29

22:29 discovered two things. One was a

22:33

22:33 beautiful wine place that I, the name is

22:36

22:36 eluding me, but they were delicious. Uh,

22:38

22:38 we had a bunch of white wine. It was

22:39

22:39 wonderful. But we also discovered a new

22:42

22:42 artist who I really really enjoy. Uh,

22:45

22:45 and I don't want to spoil anything for

22:47

22:47 my fun finds, but Joshua, I think you're

22:50

22:50 going to get a kick out of some of the

22:51

22:51 stuff that I found that I brought to

22:53

22:53 share with you.

22:54

22:54 >> Okay,

22:55

22:55 >> now I can cut to Sunday. I'm just going

22:57

22:57 through this real quick here. So,

22:58

22:58 Sunday, Joshua, we went to see a Bay

23:01

23:01 Area artist by the name of Lor Russell.

23:04

23:04 I don't know if you know who L Russell

23:05

23:05 is or if you've heard any of his music.

23:07

23:07 I recommend you guys check it out. L

23:09

23:09 Russell is awesome. But, we had a meet

23:11

23:11 and greet with him. So, we got to take a

23:13

23:13 picture and uh we had that performance.

23:15

23:15 That was wonderful. It was a great

23:17

23:17 [ __ ] time, dude. And then uh we went

23:19

23:19 to a sandwich shop and

23:23

23:23 something else. We did something else

23:25

23:25 and I can't remember. Uh but yeah, it

23:28

23:28 was really fun that Sunday.

23:31

23:31 Now I can talk about something that I

23:32

23:32 completely skipped over. Saturday,

23:34

23:34 buddy, because it involves being

23:35

23:35 inebriated.

23:37

23:37 >> So, okay,

23:38

23:38 >> Saturday,

23:38

23:38 >> rewind the tape. All right,

23:39

23:39 >> rewind it. Woo. So, Saturday evening, we

23:44

23:44 went to a rooftop bar. So, our night

23:47

23:47 started at around 5:00, we went to this

23:51

23:51 wonderful rooftop bar called The Nest.

23:53

23:53 You can look it up. Uh we did a VIP

23:55

23:55 thing where we got to sit in our own

23:57

23:57 private area uh and just be waited on by

23:60

24:00 a wonderful server named Gus uh who let

24:03

24:03 [clears throat] us stay beyond our

24:05

24:05 aotted time, which was an hour and a

24:07

24:07 half. They let us stay till about uh

24:09

24:09 like an extra two hours, which is really

24:12

24:12 [ __ ] cool. And we just got hammered,

24:14

24:14 buddy. The view sensational. Mia put the

24:17

24:17 picture up there. It was wonderful.

24:19

24:19 Absolutely incredible view. Drinks were

24:23

24:23 great. Atmosphere on point. They had a

24:26

24:26 DJ playing. It was fun vibes all around.

24:28

24:28 There were a bunch of people like

24:30

24:30 dancing and doing their thing, right?

24:32

24:32 So, we at already had like maybe four or

24:36

24:36 five drinks in us

24:38

24:38 and we were waiting and kind of just

24:41

24:41 like killing time up to the point where

24:44

24:44 we had reservations for Seattle's best

24:50

24:50 uh sushi restaurant. Uh, it is like a

24:53

24:53 Michelin star sushi restaurant. Uh, with

24:56

24:56 the chef who literally brought sushi to

25:01

25:01 America, Joshua. Like, this chef is the

25:03

25:03 reason why sushi is here. Like, I'm not

25:05

25:05 even joking. All right. This is not a

25:07

25:07 joke. This is facts. Um,

25:10

25:10 >> okay. All right.

25:11

25:11 >> We went to his restaurant. The guy's

25:13

25:13 like a hundred years old at this point,

25:14

25:14 but he's still back there [ __ ] dicing

25:17

25:17 up the fish, buddy. Dicing up the fish.

25:20

25:20 So Joshua, I wish I could describe to

25:23

25:23 you how [ __ ] amazing this experience

25:26

25:26 was. So right off the bat, let me tell

25:28

25:28 you, we did the omasake, which is you

25:31

25:31 let the chef decide what what to eat,

25:34

25:34 right?

25:35

25:35 >> This was $160, $165

25:40

25:40 per person.

25:41

25:41 >> Per person. All right. All right. So,

25:43

25:43 man, right off the bat, we starting, we

25:46

25:46 ripping, we [ __ ] we doing it, buddy.

25:48

25:48 We going hard. All right. So,

25:50

25:50 >> all right,

25:50

25:50 >> we let the chef decide, right? He's

25:53

25:53 bringing us our little dishes, right?

25:55

25:55 He's we're getting explanations from a

25:57

25:57 few different people until this one

25:60

25:60 gentleman has finally decided to take us

26:02

26:02 under his wing. His name was Brandon,

26:04

26:04 and he became our server for the rest of

26:07

26:07 the [ __ ] night. So,

26:10

26:10 the chef would do a dish, he'd bring it

26:12

26:12 out, and we'd be like, "Holy [ __ ]

26:15

26:15 Joshua." It would be the you can't even

26:18

26:18 I can't even [ __ ] describe to you how

26:20

26:20 good it was, dude. It was It's When

26:22

26:22 people say, "Oh, food is life-changing,

26:25

26:25 right?" And you go, "Yeah, [ __ ] you."

26:27

26:27 You You sound pretentious as [ __ ]

26:29

26:29 right? I'm going to sound pretentious as

26:30

26:30 [ __ ] This food was lifechanging,

26:34

26:34 Joshua. Lifechanging. Have you ever had

26:36

26:36 sea urchent, buddy?

26:38

26:38 >> No.

26:39

26:39 >> Exactly. And you've never will the same

26:41

26:41 way that I had sea urchent. And it's so

26:44

26:44 [ __ ] incredible that it'll make you

26:46

26:46 [ __ ] cry cuz it made me cry. I cried

26:49

26:49 three times during this [ __ ] dinner,

26:51

26:51 bro. Three [ __ ] times. I kid you not.

26:54

26:54 And I I'm an emotional person.

26:57

26:57 >> Wow.

26:57

26:57 >> I don't know if you can tell, but when I

27:00

27:00 tell you, Joshua, that this [ __ ] meal

27:03

27:03 changed my perspective on sushi and the

27:06

27:06 way that fish can taste, I I mean that.

27:10

27:10 It was incredible. And our server,

27:12

27:12 Brandon, God bless this man, because the

27:16

27:16 chef would bring out a dish. Brandon

27:18

27:18 would show up and he would explain the

27:20

27:20 dish. He explain how to eat it, what

27:22

27:22 order, like what to do with it. And then

27:24

27:24 we'd eat it and I'd start to ball. It

27:27

27:27 was delicious. And there was a moment

27:29

27:29 >> comes with [ __ ] instructions.

27:31

27:31 >> Yes, it does. Because something at that

27:33

27:33 [ __ ] beautiful cuisine level, buddy,

27:36

27:36 you need instructions cuz you can't go

27:38

27:38 all barbarian like you would and just

27:40

27:40 eat with your [ __ ] fork. You know,

27:42

27:42 the chef prepared it in a way that

27:44

27:44 needed to be respected.

27:46

27:46 >> So, there was a moment that I had with

27:49

27:49 Brandon where we're about halfway

27:51

27:51 through our sushi dishes, right?

27:53

27:53 >> And we have this beautiful tasting

27:57

27:57 flounder, buddy. The chef did something

27:60

27:60 with wasabi that I never thought I could

28:03

28:03 ever enjoy. He like hid the wasabi in a

28:06

28:06 way that let the flounder express its

28:09

28:09 fishy flavor and then hit you on the

28:12

28:12 back end with wasabi heat. It was

28:15

28:15 incredible. But as I was going through

28:17

28:17 this moment, I was having this this

28:19

28:19 emotional attachment to this fish.

28:21

28:21 Brandon was starting to show up, right?

28:23

28:23 He was starting to come over and I had

28:24

28:24 to stop him. I had to do a Brandon. Not

28:27

28:27 right now. Not right now. And the man

28:30

28:30 took a bow and he walked away for a

28:32

28:32 moment. Then he came back and I was

28:33

28:33 like, "Brandon, that was one of the best

28:35

28:35 pieces of fish I've ever [ __ ] had in

28:37

28:37 my entire life." And because Joshua, we

28:41

28:41 were inebriated a little bit. Um, the

28:44

28:44 old lady and I were like, "We want to do

28:46

28:46 an aloc cart menu. Like, we love these

28:49

28:49 pieces of fish so [ __ ] much that we

28:52

28:52 want to do more of them." So, we got an

28:54

28:54 alikart menu, Joshua, and we got every

28:57

28:57 single thing that we had twice. We got

29:00

29:00 them again, buddy. We got sea urchants

29:02

29:02 again. We got the flounder. We got the

29:04

29:04 salmon. We got everything all over

29:05

29:05 again.

29:06

29:06 >> And Joshua, let me say this.

29:08

29:08 >> Mhm.

29:09

29:09 >> If you ever have the means to go to a

29:11

29:11 Michelin restaurant where the

29:13

29:13 [ __ ] who made sushi in North

29:17

29:17 America is there cooking sushi, making

29:20

29:20 sushi. You got to do that [ __ ] buddy.

29:22

29:22 You got to do that [ __ ] and you got to

29:24

29:24 love every [ __ ] minute of it because

29:26

29:26 the people next to us, buddy, when we

29:28

29:28 got there, the people sitting next to

29:30

29:30 our lefthand side were the most

29:32

29:32 chromogen pieces of [  ] [  ] that I

29:35

29:35 wish they never even existed.

29:38

29:38 >> Those people, Joshua, more of those.

29:40

29:40 Yep. They literally sat there as the

29:43

29:43 chef was bringing out their food and

29:45

29:45 they would take a bite and then they

29:46

29:46 would go

29:48

29:48 and then you would just like get this

29:50

29:50 weird like go [ __ ] yourself kind of

29:52

29:52 vibe, right? And I will say this, they

29:55

29:55 did not do what we did. All right, they

29:57

29:57 they got the one below it. They got the

29:60

29:60 $135 option. All right, they weren't

30:02

30:02 they weren't even there to splurge, you

30:05

30:05 know? So, [ __ ] them. I asked Brandon

30:07

30:07 about them when we were all done and

30:10

30:10 Brandon said that even the people in the

30:12

30:12 back, the servers were like, "What the

30:14

30:14 [ __ ] their problem?"

30:16

30:16 >> When people are like that, you can go

30:18

30:18 [ __ ] yourselves. All right.

30:19

30:19 >> That was the only That was the only

30:21

30:21 [ __ ] stain on this sensational

30:25

30:25 anniversary dinner, buddy. It was

30:28

30:28 >> Did I make myself clear? Did I make

30:30

30:30 myself clear that this was the best

30:32

30:32 [  ] meal I've ever [  ] had

30:35

30:35 >> in my entire [ __ ] life, Joshua? And I

30:38

30:38 know I cuss a lot,

30:39

30:39 >> but

30:39

30:39 >> yeah. Well,

30:40

30:40 >> this vocabulary,

30:42

30:42 >> this is deserves it.

30:44

30:44 >> So, that was my bite of Seattle, buddy.

30:47

30:47 That was that was the highlight of my

30:49

30:49 day was that [ __ ] dinner. It was It

30:53

30:53 was incredible. And for the record, at

30:55

30:55 the very end of the night, we tip

30:56

30:56 Brandon very well, very handsomely. Uh,

30:59

30:59 we ended up spending a total of $600

31:01

31:01 plus dollars on everything. Uh, and it

31:05

31:05 was the best money I think we've ever

31:07

31:07 spent. So, there's that.

31:09

31:09 >> Great.

31:10

31:10 >> I'm done talking for the day.

31:12

31:12 >> No, I'm glad you had a wonderful time,

31:14

31:14 buddy.

31:14

31:14 >> It was wonderful. I I couldn't have

31:16

31:16 asked for a better partner and a better

31:18

31:18 experience in life. So, Joshua, I got to

31:22

31:22 take some sips. You [ __ ] guide the

31:24

31:24 show right now.

31:25

31:25 >> You know, honestly, I've s my soul away.

31:28

31:28 I think it's about time we either move

31:29

31:29 on to a topic or we let something else

31:31

31:31 do the talking for us for at least

31:34

31:34 >> three to four minutes. Whatever it else,

31:36

31:36 whatever you want to do.

31:37

31:37 >> I'm perfectly fine with hitting the AI

31:39

31:39 song. [laughter]

31:39

31:39 >> Yeah. Yeah. So, if you want to hit the

31:41

31:41 jukebox, we do have a song for

31:43

31:43 everybody. Um, usually we do this at the

31:45

31:45 30 minute mark, maybe a little sooner.

31:47

31:47 Um, so this week, uh, Sean has given me

31:50

31:50 the reigns and I dropped another AI

31:53

31:53 song. And this, my friends, is what I

31:56

31:56 like to dub a banger. I feel like I feel

31:60

31:60 like this is not going to put you to

32:02

32:02 sleep. I feel like this is one of those

32:04

32:04 that should move you. And if it doesn't,

32:07

32:07 I'm sorry. Um, but I tried. So, Sean, if

32:11

32:11 you would do us all a favor and put a

32:15

32:15 cord in the jukebox. The song is called

32:18

32:18 Running on E. And like I said, turn the

32:21

32:21 speakers up, roll the windows up, or

32:23

32:23 roll them down because get ready for it

32:24

32:24 because it's going to be a banger.

32:26

32:26 >> All right, here you go everybody. Enjoy.

32:42

32:42 Left turn pace.

32:45

32:45 Yeah. Took a left to the coast. Let the

32:47

32:47 moon run point. Club loud. I don't wait.

32:50

32:50 That's the [music] whole damn point. He

32:52

32:52 still up but the breeze cut clean.

32:55

32:55 Saying on my souls but the steps stay

32:57

32:57 mean [music]

33:00

33:00 running on E but I still turn to keep.

33:02

33:02 Didn't need lights. Whole night still

33:03

33:03 sees me. You can stand in line. I know

33:05

33:05 I'll be fine. [music] I don't chase

33:06

33:06 crowds. Never needed that shine. And I

33:08

33:08 don't chase noise. Silence is more kind.

33:10

33:10 Moon on the water like a handmade line.

33:12

33:12 Cut through static. I'm alone [music]

33:13

33:13 but good. Whole vibe shift when I step

33:14

33:14 into the wood. I said fall back. They

33:16

33:16 echo it back. Lane locked in. Never slip

33:18

33:18 off track. The summer moon [music] is

33:19

33:19 what I was meant to embrace. Left turn

33:21

33:21 living. That's my natural pace. Under

33:24

33:24 moon. I move my way. Left turn. [music]

33:28

33:28 Let the noise decay.

33:30

33:30 Silence in the air. Keep my mind in

33:33

33:33 place. Beach side. That's that's that's

33:35

33:35 my natural pace. [music]

33:38

33:38 [singing]

33:43

33:43 [music]

33:49

33:49 >> [music]

33:52

33:52 >> Waves hit slow but the beat hit quick.

33:53

33:53 Co stay calm but the vibes stay slick.

33:55

33:55 Didn't need crowd just to feel my way.

33:57

33:57 Didn't need noise just to set my state.

33:59

33:59 Phone on mute let the city run wild.

34:01

34:01 Never been a club line type of child.

34:02

34:02 Heat on my neck [music] but my mind stay

34:04

34:04 cold. Moonlight short make the whole

34:05

34:05 night b. I don't chase trends I define

34:07

34:07 my lane. [music] Silence in that help me

34:09

34:09 clear my brain. Let that neon tide in

34:11

34:11 the breeze. Found my rhythm in the

34:12

34:12 rustle of trees. I a step like they echo

34:15

34:15 it back. Calm on my chest. Never fall

34:16

34:16 for the pack. [music] Night on the

34:17

34:17 coast. Put the noise to shame. Left turn

34:19

34:19 living. That's the way I claim. Under

34:22

34:22 summer moon, [music] I move my way. Left

34:25

34:25 turn living. Let the noise decay.

34:28

34:28 Silence in the air. Keep my [music] mind

34:31

34:31 in place. Beach side night. That's my

34:34

34:34 natural place. [music]

34:41

34:41 That's my natural place. [music]

34:44

34:44 base

34:47

34:47 [music]

34:50

34:50 hit heavy when the night runs late.

34:52

34:52 [music]

34:53

34:53 Left turn if I keep my whole mind

34:55

34:55 straight

34:56

34:56 silence in the cut. Let the neon fow.

35:01

35:01 That's the move I made.

35:05

35:05 Under

35:07

35:07 my way left turn. Let the noise decay.

35:11

35:11 [singing]

35:12

35:12 Silence in the air. Yeah. Keep my mind

35:15

35:15 in place. Beach side. [music] That's my

35:17

35:17 That's my natural

35:21

35:21 moon.

35:23

35:23 [music]

35:24

35:24 Left turn silence in [singing] the

35:30

35:30 crazy.

35:34

35:34 >> Damn, son. That was good.

35:36

35:36 >> That was [ __ ] good. I got the energy

35:38

35:38 pumping, my dude. My body feels great.

35:42

35:42 Um,

35:42

35:42 >> yeah, man.

35:43

35:43 >> Before I praise you some more, I just

35:44

35:44 want to, you know, kind of full circle

35:46

35:46 this real quick. Uh, so that way it

35:48

35:48 makes a good short and also so people

35:50

35:50 know what the [ __ ] I was talking about.

35:51

35:51 Uh, the chef who made the sushi was

35:53

35:53 named Chef Shiro Kashiba and the sushi

35:57

35:57 restaurant was Sushi Kashiba. Hopefully

36:00

36:00 I pronounced that right. I'm not good

36:02

36:02 with names. So, but amazing, amazing

36:05

36:05 place. Thank you, chef. Thank you,

36:07

36:07 Brandon. Wonderful. I'm done talking

36:09

36:09 about it. That's it. [snorts] Let's move

36:12

36:12 on, buddy. What's this next on? Yes.

36:14

36:14 >> Okay. Uh, falling Where we at? Falling

36:16

36:16 in love. I think that's your

36:18

36:18 >> Yeah, falling in love.

36:20

36:20 >> All right. Um, there's many ways to fall

36:22

36:22 in love and many more ways to fall out

36:25

36:25 of it. Um, so what what are you going to

36:27

36:27 hit?

36:27

36:27 >> Here we go. [laughter]

36:28

36:28 >> I forgot that I had this next one, too,

36:30

36:30 where I have to talk. [ __ ] me.

36:33

36:33 >> I mean, it's fine. I mean, let's make it

36:35

36:35 interactive, man. I mean, we're all

36:36

36:36 here. This isn't the Sean show. We got a

36:38

36:38 bunch of subscribers.

36:40

36:40 >> Let's get us all in the circle and let's

36:43

36:43 have some fun. Let's have some

36:44

36:44 marshmallows. Let's have a bite.

36:45

36:45 >> Come wa gross. Uh [laughter] come on in

36:48

36:48 to the circle. Uh basically what falling

36:50

36:50 in love is, buddy was just another way

36:52

36:52 to get to know to get to know you and I.

36:56

36:56 >> Uh because again, like I alluded to this

36:58

36:58 whole episode, this is going to be an

36:59

36:59 episode where you get to know us. Uh to

37:01

37:01 see if you like us. Think of this like a

37:02

37:02 free trial. Uh I mean,

37:04

37:04 >> how can you not? How can you not?

37:06

37:06 >> How [laughter] can you not? If you made

37:07

37:07 it this far, we might be doing something

37:09

37:09 that you like. Uh, but

37:11

37:11 >> Joshua, I just have a whole bunch of

37:12

37:12 questions here. Uh, I want to give you

37:14

37:14 20 of them. Some of them are really easy

37:16

37:16 to answer. Some of them are going to be

37:18

37:18 short. Some of them are going to be a

37:19

37:19 little bit long.

37:20

37:20 >> So, I'm going to just get kind of copy

37:22

37:22 and paste some for you. And, um,

37:24

37:24 >> here we go, buddy.

37:26

37:26 >> What brings out your most self-confident

37:29

37:29 self?

37:30

37:30 >> Sorry.

37:31

37:31 >> Uh, what brings out the most Oh, Jesus

37:34

37:34 Christ. Uh, I don't know. like a smile,

37:37

37:37 a thank you. Uh just I don't know, just

37:40

37:40 somebody being appreciative of words of

37:43

37:43 wisdom and kindness and gestures I pro,

37:45

37:45 you know, I have for them or whatever. I

37:47

37:47 don't know. Okay. Just

37:48

37:48 >> I mean I don't know.

37:49

37:49 >> Okay. So that brings out the most

37:51

37:51 self-confidence for me like when someone

37:52

37:52 smiles at you.

37:52

37:52 >> You had 20 of them. So I'm trying to

37:54

37:54 answer these super quick. I mean I just

37:56

37:56 want firm. Sure.

37:57

37:57 >> Okay. Um yeah, just the the the the um

38:00

38:00 reciprocation of love, kindness, and

38:03

38:03 friendship and and genuine care for one

38:05

38:05 another. That probably brings out the

38:07

38:07 best in me.

38:08

38:08 >> Fake individuals get fake results. Yeah.

38:11

38:11 So I love it.

38:12

38:12 >> Give me your best and I will give you

38:14

38:14 even more.

38:15

38:15 >> I I did owe Joshua on that, by the way.

38:17

38:17 That's my answer, too. Uh Joshua, what

38:19

38:19 is something that makes you laugh every

38:21

38:21 single time?

38:22

38:22 >> Oh gosh. I mean, you know, uh,

38:26

38:26 occasionally I'll be scrolling and like

38:28

38:28 you'll just see like this random either

38:30

38:30 it's AI generator or whatever, but it's

38:32

38:32 like a baby laughing, you know, or like

38:35

38:35 >> That's a good one. That's a good one.

38:37

38:37 >> You know, like, you know, like who can

38:39

38:39 deny a a child's laughter? Like the

38:42

38:42 genuine love and, you know, like just

38:46

38:46 occasionally it just random funny stuff

38:49

38:49 just pops up. Yeah. Just a child's

38:50

38:50 laughter, a child's joy. I mean,

38:52

38:52 probably puts a smile on my face. And I

38:54

38:54 don't have no kids, so but um maybe one

38:57

38:57 day that could bring that same joy to my

38:58

38:58 life if I ever have one. But

38:59

38:59 >> you know, I'm kind of upset that you

39:01

39:01 just said that. You do have a kid, bro.

39:02

39:02 You have a kid.

39:03

39:03 >> Oh, I do.

39:04

39:04 >> He's right here. Like, [  ] It's [  ]

39:06

39:06 up. [laughter]

39:07

39:07 >> Uh Joshua, what is your favorite word?

39:11

39:11 >> Uh favorite word? Oh gosh. Favorite

39:14

39:14 word. Um

39:17

39:17 uh do I do I have a favorite word? I

39:19

39:19 don't even know if my vocabulary is

39:21

39:21 extensive enough to even have a

39:22

39:22 favorite. I use everything universally.

39:26

39:26 I know I say so [snorts] a lot on this

39:28

39:28 podcast. I probably should just say so

39:30

39:30 less. Um favorite word? Um

39:34

39:34 uh favorite word? Uh genuiness. I don't

39:38

39:38 know. Kindness. I mean I don't know like

39:40

39:40 Okay.

39:40

39:40 >> What what's a favorite? It's probably

39:42

39:42 something.

39:43

39:43 >> My favorite word is [ __ ] [laughter]

39:46

39:46 >> I say that a lot.

39:49

39:49 I mean, maybe I say fun a lot. I don't

39:51

39:51 know. Like, you know.

39:53

39:53 >> All right. What about this? What's your

39:55

39:55 favorite kind of weather?

39:57

39:57 >> Favorite kind of weather? Jesus. I feel

39:59

39:59 like I'm I'm seasonal. Like, my

40:01

40:01 biometrics are is seasonal because I

40:03

40:03 have really enjoyed the cold. Like when

40:05

40:05 I got to go to snow, the snow one time,

40:07

40:07 I was like, "Dude, this is [ __ ] fun.

40:08

40:08 Like, the snow would be awesome." Um,

40:10

40:10 but when I'm out there, like today when

40:12

40:12 I was golfing, being in the sun and

40:14

40:14 feeling the energy and and even

40:18

40:18 the sun is probably where I will find

40:21

40:21 myself spending most of the time, you

40:24

40:24 know, at the beach, just taking in the

40:26

40:26 sun, wearing as little clothes as

40:28

40:28 possible, and just enjoying one's

40:31

40:31 natural self, you know.

40:34

40:34 >> I feel [clears throat]

40:34

40:34 >> the sun.

40:35

40:35 >> Okay. I think I mean, that's a very

40:37

40:37 solid answer. I love that because it's

40:39

40:39 true. You probably would find the song

40:41

40:41 to be that way. I would probably say for

40:43

40:43 me it would be like rain. Like I love

40:44

40:44 the rain. It's just I don't know. It's

40:46

40:46 so calming.

40:48

40:48 >> Mhm.

40:49

40:49 >> Respect the rain though, too.

40:51

40:51 >> Yeah, exactly. You got to respect the

40:52

40:52 rain. Yeah. Uh what is something you

40:54

40:54 hope you never become too grown up to

40:58

40:58 enjoy?

40:60

40:60 >> Roller coasters.

41:01

41:01 >> Roller coasters. You think you're going

41:02

41:02 to be riding a roller coaster at like

41:04

41:04 80?

41:06

41:06 >> Yeah. Well, I just know like your

41:07

41:07 equilibrium and vertigo and there's a

41:09

41:09 problem with people riding roller

41:11

41:11 coasters as they get older. Um, I love

41:13

41:13 see there's a thing about roller

41:15

41:15 coasters that that that enhances the my

41:18

41:18 love for extreme um situations. And when

41:21

41:21 you're strapped into a roller coaster

41:23

41:23 and you're flipping upside down, you're

41:24

41:24 going sideways and you're doing some

41:25

41:25 [ __ ] like that. Like you can only

41:27

41:27 experience that through the rush of a

41:28

41:28 roller coaster or like a car crash,

41:30

41:30 which is not good for you.

41:31

41:31 >> Don't do that. So, [laughter]

41:33

41:33 like if you're flipping over in a car,

41:36

41:36 it's probably a bad situation. But if

41:38

41:38 you're on a roller coaster, I mean, I

41:40

41:40 hope I never get too old to ride. It's

41:42

41:42 been forever since I've ridden a roller

41:43

41:43 coaster. Um, and I'm talking about those

41:45

41:45 fake ones with the CGI screens in front

41:47

41:47 of you where the [ __ ] seat moves.

41:48

41:48 That's not a roller coaster. This is

41:49

41:49 trash. Yeah, that's not dumb. That that

41:51

41:51 is dumb. Um, but maybe it's it's roller

41:54

41:54 coasters.

41:55

41:55 >> Yeah, an extreme thing to be able to do

41:58

41:58 in a controlled setting. Going with

42:01

42:01 that. All right. I like that. I love

42:02

42:02 that answer, dude. Um,

42:05

42:05 obviously for me it's Disneyland, but

42:06

42:06 you know, I'll never grow out of that.

42:08

42:08 Uh, what is the funniest thing you

42:11

42:11 believed as a kid?

42:13

42:13 >> The funniest thing I believed as a kid?

42:17

42:17 Um,

42:18

42:18 that going to school

42:22

42:22 uh

42:23

42:23 Jeff, I was going to say that actually

42:25

42:25 made you smart, but um [laughter] I mean

42:27

42:27 I guess going to school does make you

42:28

42:28 smart. gives you a better vocabulary,

42:30

42:30 I'll tell you that.

42:31

42:31 >> Uh yeah, uh going to school is going

42:34

42:34 also cost you a lot of money. Um going

42:36

42:36 to public school and it cost you [ __ ]

42:38

42:38 Uh most stuff you learn is in the in the

42:39

42:39 playground with all the other people,

42:41

42:41 you know, learn how to fight and [ __ ]

42:42

42:42 >> Playing marbles with your knuckles.

42:44

42:44 >> God, you know, it's it's hard to say. Um

42:47

42:47 I' I'd have to think that would be a

42:49

42:49 deep thought even though it seems like

42:51

42:51 you should be able to just crack open a

42:52

42:52 a memory and figure that one out. But,

42:55

42:55 you know, since I'm a deep thinker, some

42:56

42:56 of those require me to dig deep. And uh

42:59

42:59 I only have so much time to answer that

43:01

43:01 question right now.

43:01

43:01 >> I like how you're just vampy for time.

43:03

43:03 We'll move on to the next one, buddy.

43:05

43:05 What snack best represents your

43:07

43:07 personality?

43:09

43:09 >> A snack?

43:10

43:10 >> Uh gee. Uh um

43:13

43:13 is is a Snickers a snack?

43:16

43:16 >> Yeah. How would that represent your

43:17

43:17 personality?

43:18

43:18 >> Um because it's everything you want all

43:20

43:20 in one bite. You know, you got the

43:21

43:21 chocolate, you got the nougat, you got

43:23

43:23 the crunch, you got the little like I'm

43:25

43:25 everything.

43:26

43:26 >> Like, if you wanted funny to [laughter]

43:28

43:28 me.

43:30

43:30 >> What?

43:30

43:30 >> I I don't know. I don't know why that's

43:32

43:32 funny to me. I mean, [ __ ] It's a great

43:35

43:35 analogy, dude. It's a great analogy.

43:37

43:37 That's awesome. [laughter]

43:38

43:38 >> I will be as explosive in your mouth as

43:41

43:41 I am in your mind. So, put a Snickers in

43:43

43:43 your mouth and just think about me cuz

43:45

43:45 that's exactly what I'm going to taste

43:47

43:47 like and be like in your mind or your

43:49

43:49 mouth. Taste the rainbow. I know that's

43:52

43:52 not what they're saying, but yeah.

43:53

43:53 >> I think I would probably be an apple.

43:54

43:54 Like a cosmic crisp or something because

43:56

43:56 like on the outside I'm like shiny, but

43:58

43:58 on the inside I'm sweet and tart, you

44:01

44:01 know? So I think I would be an apple.

44:04

44:04 [laughter]

44:05

44:05 >> Yeah, I'm I'm variety man. I I give you

44:07

44:07 everything, you know. You could you can

44:09

44:09 suck on it to the very whatever you

44:11

44:11 want. Chew on it, everything.

44:13

44:13 >> All right. Uh, next one. Uh, what object

44:16

44:16 in your home has the best backstory?

44:20

44:20 the [clears throat] best backstory.

44:22

44:22 Yeah.

44:22

44:22 >> Oh [ __ ] Um I would probably say Oh

44:25

44:25 gosh, check it out. I still have it

44:27

44:27 right next to me from uh a throwback

44:29

44:29 call back to I have it right next to me.

44:31

44:31 The magic maybe this magic deck of cards

44:33

44:33 right here.

44:34

44:34 >> This deck of magic. Um I mean I've had

44:37

44:37 this since I was a you know a kneeh high

44:40

44:40 man. I' I've had those cards forever. Um

44:43

44:43 got comic books. Probably has some cool

44:45

44:45 backstories. Um

44:48

44:48 >> okay.

44:48

44:48 >> [ __ ] Yeah. So, that's probably the

44:51

44:51 between that and comic books and [sighs]

44:54

44:54 >> just my brain that currently is in my

44:56

44:56 head still um has a very good backstory

44:58

44:58 and a front story.

44:60

44:60 >> Um

45:01

45:01 >> we'll do two more. I won't do 20. We'll

45:03

45:03 do 10. So, this one is uh what would the

45:07

45:07 title of your current life chapter be?

45:11

45:11 >> To be continued.

45:13

45:13 >> That would be the title. To be

45:15

45:15 continued. Chapter five. I mean to be I

45:17

45:17 mean I mean chapter 5 to be continued

45:19

45:19 cuz every page is a new day and every

45:21

45:21 sunrise sunset it brings new beginnings.

45:23

45:23 So it's it's there's never an end until

45:26

45:26 it's actually over, you know? So it's

45:29

45:29 always going to be to be continued.

45:30

45:30 >> I like how the one he gets really phys

45:32

45:32 like mental on is that one. Like what

45:35

45:35 the [ __ ] Like come on.

45:36

45:36 >> What? To be continued. What do you want

45:38

45:38 me to What do you want me to say?

45:39

45:39 >> No, I want you to be honest. So if

45:41

45:41 that's you being honest then cool. to be

45:44

45:44 continued I guess

45:45

45:45 >> into this next question.

45:47

45:47 >> Okay,

45:48

45:48 >> last question. What joyful thought would

45:51

45:51 you leave listeners with?

45:54

45:54 >> What joyful thought? Um

45:58

45:58 uh

45:60

45:60 what joyful thought. Jesus, [laughter]

46:03

46:03 I got so many. Here's the problem with

46:05

46:05 somebody who has a mind like my like the

46:07

46:07 way I think. As soon as you say that, I

46:09

46:09 have a million things I want to say, but

46:11

46:11 nothing

46:13

46:13 nothing makes its way out of my mouth in

46:15

46:15 a cohesive uh coherent sentence. So,

46:19

46:19 it's it's really hard for me to answer

46:20

46:20 that. Um,

46:23

46:23 joyful thought uh new every day brings

46:27

46:27 new beginnings. I don't know. Just like

46:30

46:30 like I don't know.

46:32

46:32 >> Live every day like it's your last

46:34

46:34 everybody. No, not necessarily that

46:36

46:36 because you know people do that in

46:38

46:38 extremes and it's a problem.

46:40

46:40 >> Um

46:40

46:40 >> do it in extremes. Who knows? Maybe

46:42

46:42 you're not gonna make it tomorrow, bro.

46:44

46:44 >> [ __ ] it.

46:45

46:45 >> No, to tomorrow is never guaranteed, but

46:47

46:47 today right now is. And um sometimes

46:50

46:50 just living in the moment is better than

46:52

46:52 living today like it's your last is not

46:55

46:55 so good. I don't know. Sure.

46:60

46:60 [laughter]

47:01

47:01 All right, buddy. There you go. 10

47:02

47:02 questions that hopefully

47:03

47:03 >> Wait, give me two more. I want two more.

47:05

47:05 >> You want two? Now I got to open. I don't

47:07

47:07 even have my other thing open. You only

47:08

47:08 get 10. That's all you get. But

47:10

47:10 >> God damn it. 12 seems like a good

47:12

47:12 number.

47:12

47:12 >> 10's a good number, too. It's a good

47:14

47:14 even number, bro.

47:16

47:16 >> Okay. All right.

47:17

47:17 >> I mean, I could just ask you like

47:18

47:18 personal questions. I can two person two

47:20

47:20 more. Two more off the cuff.

47:22

47:22 >> All right. Joshua,

47:24

47:24 what is your favorite brand of shoe?

47:27

47:27 >> Oh, favorite brand of shoe. Currently,

47:29

47:29 it is the Vans. I think it's the uh what

47:32

47:32 is it called? The 2.0. know low low tops

47:36

47:36 or something like that. Yeah, I forget

47:38

47:38 what they are, but that's like 2.0

47:40

47:40 something, but I got a [ __ ] ton of

47:41

47:41 those. I got like four colors.

47:42

47:42 >> Yeah. Damn.

47:43

47:43 >> Sorry to all you Nike fanatics out there

47:45

47:45 and your Jordan Air1s and all that [ __ ]

47:47

47:47 I'm a Vans guy.

47:49

47:49 >> You know, you won't catch me wearing New

47:51

47:51 Balance.

47:51

47:51 >> I recently discovered Hokas.

47:54

47:54 >> Uh let me just say my my life has

47:56

47:56 changed from hocas like

47:58

47:58 >> not doing the Hoka thing.

47:59

47:59 >> I [  ] love it, dude. I [  ] love

48:01

48:01 my feet have never felt better. It's

48:03

48:03 wonderful.

48:04

48:04 >> The closest I get to a Hoka is an onsh

48:06

48:06 shoe and I I wore the on shoes for

48:10

48:10 approximately 30 miles and this is

48:13

48:13 tracked because I I walk a lot at work

48:15

48:15 and those [ __ ] things hurt my feet,

48:17

48:17 man. And I I slap on my Vans and I'm I'm

48:20

48:20 walking on water, let me tell you. I'm

48:22

48:22 like Jesus over here. I'm [ __ ] I'm

48:23

48:23 smooth.

48:24

48:24 >> Yeah. The Vans are flat as all hell,

48:27

48:27 dude. That's weird.

48:28

48:28 >> I wear a comfort cush. I got to bounce.

48:31

48:31 Maybe just because I have a natural

48:32

48:32 bounce that I I I when I get in the thes

48:36

48:36 or some of these other like supported

48:38

48:38 shoes, it just makes me feel too just I

48:40

48:40 don't know, mushy.

48:43

48:43 >> Like I'm not connected with the earth,

48:45

48:45 you know? Like I just I feel too mushy.

48:47

48:47 Like maybe it's I'm walking in mashed

48:49

48:49 potatoes versus like I'm walking on

48:51

48:51 granite. You know what I mean? Like I I

48:53

48:53 feel the ground underneath my feet,

48:55

48:55 >> not walking on pillows, you know?

48:58

48:58 Whatever the [ __ ]

48:59

48:59 >> Last question, buddy.

49:01

49:01 What is your favorite Sorry for the

49:04

49:04 delay merch shirt on the website right

49:06

49:06 now.

49:08

49:08 >> Okay. All right. So, I I'm a classic

49:10

49:10 outdoorsman.

49:12

49:12 So, I really I mean I have a big old

49:14

49:14 sticker in the back back there. The um

49:16

49:16 the hiker, the dead hiker.

49:18

49:18 >> Okay.

49:19

49:19 >> Um throwback the surfer um is one of my

49:23

49:23 unique uh I love that one. And the

49:26

49:26 >> surfer one. What is the the one that we

49:29

49:29 currently have part of the podcast on

49:32

49:32 the on the bottom that we run in every

49:34

49:34 episode? That one's pretty sick. It's

49:35

49:35 the spring one. The spring collection.

49:37

49:37 >> Spring collection was a good one that is

49:38

49:38 no longer available.

49:40

49:40 >> Okay. Sorry, spring. So, if you got that

49:41

49:41 limited edition, congratulations. Um,

49:44

49:44 and you know, you can never go wrong

49:46

49:46 with OG because there's a foundation to

49:49

49:49 everything and the OG is part of who we

49:51

49:51 are. There's a foundation and if you

49:52

49:52 haven't gotten it yet, go out and get it

49:54

49:54 because OG is who we are to the core.

49:57

49:57 and um it just says, you know, good

49:60

49:60 times. I feel it. So,

50:01

50:01 >> um just a real quick thing on that for

50:03

50:03 those of you looking at the merch, uh

50:05

50:05 just know that I, me, hello, my name is

50:07

50:07 Sean, uh design those shirts. So, uh the

50:10

50:10 design you see is something that I did

50:11

50:11 created. Um and I would appreciate if

50:14

50:14 you bought it, including this one again.

50:16

50:16 It's beautiful right there. Uh Joshua,

50:20

50:20 there you go. People got to know us

50:21

50:21 hopefully a little bit better. Uh, and

50:23

50:23 if not, you know, maybe we'll do better

50:25

50:25 next week, everybody. So, let's move on.

50:27

50:27 >> Wait, can I ask a quick question? Sure.

50:28

50:28 One more quick because we're talking

50:30

50:30 about merch real quick. Oh, man. We're

50:31

50:31 getting to the end of this. Um, I did

50:33

50:33 get a request for blankets.

50:36

50:36 >> Winter's coming.

50:37

50:37 >> Do you think a a blanket could be an

50:39

50:39 option? Like, I

50:40

50:40 >> I don't want to spoil anything, buddy,

50:42

50:42 but yes, winter there will be a blanket

50:45

50:45 option.

50:46

50:46 >> Uh, because I don't know if people have

50:47

50:47 noticed this is they probably haven't

50:50

50:50 because this is the second year that

50:51

50:51 we're actually doing merch. Uh, but the

50:52

50:52 first year that we did merch, we

50:54

50:54 introduced a sweater, which was really

50:55

50:55 cool, really soft, really supple. We

50:57

50:57 might bring the sweater back in a

50:59

50:59 different design. Uh, but there is an

51:01

51:01 option to do blankets, and I was going

51:02

51:02 to run this by you, so spoiler alert.

51:04

51:04 Uh, buddy, we're going to do blankets. I

51:06

51:06 don't know how they're going to come

51:07

51:07 out, but [ __ ] we'll do them. [laughter]

51:11

51:11 >> I mean, whenever you combine butt and

51:12

51:12 [ __ ] together, I mean, it's can't you

51:14

51:14 can't lose. So,

51:16

51:16 >> this is probably why the

51:17

51:17 >> bring a blanket along. [laughter]

51:19

51:19 Bring a blanket along if you're adding

51:20

51:20 the butt and the [ __ ] because you might

51:22

51:22 need it along the way.

51:23

51:23 >> [ __ ] That's great. Uh, buddy, I know we

51:25

51:25 have one thing under here called Popcorn

51:26

51:26 Passions, and I love the title, but do

51:28

51:28 you think we can just move on to dark

51:30

51:30 energy because we're running out of time

51:31

51:31 here.

51:31

51:31 >> Let's do it. Popcorn Passions.

51:34

51:34 >> A little behind the baseball here.

51:35

51:35 Joshua and I are going on vacation for

51:38

51:38 most of August. So, we got to do a

51:39

51:39 little bit of a a pre-recording for some

51:42

51:42 of these things. So, spoilers. uh what

51:46

51:46 you're seeing now may not be recorded uh

51:48

51:48 this the next week or the week, you

51:50

51:50 know, live, right? So, we want to get to

51:52

51:52 this one because this is we're going to

51:54

51:54 be what we're going to be talking about

51:56

51:56 next week. Uh this is dark energy

51:58

51:58 theater and I have something to show for

52:00

52:00 this one and so is Joshua. We combined

52:03

52:03 our brains together for this. Um got to

52:05

52:05 get rid of [laughter]

52:07

52:07 Joshua's getting rid of chat. I'm going

52:08

52:08 to go ahead and share my screen with

52:10

52:10 everybody. Uh so, if you're watching on

52:12

52:12 Sorry for Little.live, thank you. or on

52:14

52:14 our YouTube channel. Uh, also, thank

52:16

52:16 you. And if you're not, come join it.

52:18

52:18 Come watch us. But Joshua, here we go.

52:22

52:22 This is Dark Energy Theater. Uh, I think

52:25

52:25 I got to start my little slide again.

52:27

52:27 Hang on. Give me one second, everybody.

52:30

52:30 I know what you're thinking. Don't worry

52:32

52:32 about it. Let me just get it in here.

52:34

52:34 Mia, we'll cut all this out. Thank you,

52:35

52:35 Mia. I appreciate you. Um, but here we

52:38

52:38 go, buddy. All right. There we go.

52:40

52:40 Joshua, Dark Energy Theater, welcome to

52:43

52:43 Your Last Hope.

52:45

52:45 >> So,

52:45

52:45 >> nice graphic. Okay,

52:48

52:48 >> last week Joshua and I talked about

52:50

52:50 doing like a crypted battle, right,

52:52

52:52 which kind of evolved into this beast

52:55

52:55 wars uh thing, [laughter]

52:59

52:59 >> if you want to call it that. Um, so

53:01

53:01 Joshua and I chose three different

53:04

53:04 animals. We gave three, well, some of us

53:07

53:07 have more abilities, but we we tried to

53:09

53:09 pick three different abilities and um

53:12

53:12 you know, next week we're going to be

53:14

53:14 battling them off. So, we kind of just

53:15

53:15 wanted to introduce you guys to the

53:17

53:17 characters who are going to be fighting

53:19

53:19 uh in this situation. So, Joshua, I have

53:22

53:22 all your guys first. So, I don't know if

53:23

53:23 you have any of them pulled up. Uh but

53:25

53:25 I'll just kind of show them off and then

53:27

53:27 I have a little summary on uh on them.

53:29

53:29 So, here's Joshua's first

53:33

53:33 battle or card. I guess

53:35

53:35 >> my first card. My first hero card. This

53:37

53:37 is So, if we're sitting down Oh, you

53:38

53:38 know what's ironic about that? I whipped

53:40

53:40 out the magic deck

53:41

53:41 >> and we're, you know, this is very

53:43

53:43 ironic. We don't plan this stuff. Um,

53:45

53:45 there you go. This is my first hero

53:47

53:47 card. Yeah.

53:48

53:48 >> All right. Here he is.

53:49

53:49 >> Oh, man. Okay. So, this is this is the

53:52

53:52 parrot right here.

53:54

53:54 >> Look at this guy. And his ability is uh

53:56

53:56 he's echoing and um he his his basically

53:60

53:60 his ability is sonic uh what did I put

54:02

54:02 down here? Uh control sonic waves

54:05

54:05 >> that is his strength and he will shred

54:09

54:09 you uh come any sound or thing you throw

54:12

54:12 his away. So

54:13

54:13 >> yeah I can give the people the

54:14

54:14 description here. Echoing real name Keel

54:18

54:18 Ryus

54:19

54:19 >> is a birdike sonic anti-hero who

54:22

54:22 controls sound and vibration. He can

54:23

54:23 fire sonic blasts, create energy blades

54:26

54:26 and barriers used to echo use

54:28

54:28 echolocation, heal through resonance,

54:30

54:30 jam signals, dis disrupt enemies,

54:33

54:33 nervous systems, move at supersonic

54:35

54:35 speeds, and travel stealthily. His main

54:38

54:38 weakness are power overload, emotional

54:40

54:40 surges, complete silence, and harmful

54:43

54:43 hormonic attacks, hormonic feedback. An

54:46

54:46 interesting fact is that his abilities

54:48

54:48 combine combat, healing, strength, and

54:50

54:50 technology disruption. So there he is.

54:52

54:52 That's your first guy on speed on

54:55

54:55 through this next one. Luma Pulse.

54:58

54:58 Joshua, who the [ __ ] is this? Luma Pulse

55:01

55:01 right there. She uh she controls matter.

55:04

55:04 She controls all matter. So, anything

55:06

55:06 made of matter, you're basically at her

55:10

55:10 in her in her fingertips and you are

55:12

55:12 basically destroyed if you come at her

55:15

55:15 in any particular way that she does not

55:17

55:17 appreciate.

55:18

55:18 >> All right. Luna Pulse, real name Dr.

55:21

55:21 Thalisa,

55:23

55:23 >> I made it difficult.

55:25

55:25 >> Ver

55:27

55:27 [laughter]

55:28

55:28 is a Veros city guardian. She can travel

55:31

55:31 faster than light, briefly move ahead in

55:33

55:33 time, become invisible, teleport across

55:35

55:35 the cosmos, and unleash photonic shock

55:38

55:38 waves. Her ultimate ability distorts

55:40

55:40 space, gravity, and time. Her weaknesses

55:42

55:42 are modular instability,

55:44

55:44 energy overload, and the dangerous

55:47

55:47 effects of time manipulation. So, there

55:49

55:49 she is. Mhm.

55:51

55:51 >> Beautiful.

55:52

55:52 >> Joshua, this is

55:53

55:53 >> That was an octopus, by the way.

55:55

55:55 >> Yeah, that was an octopus for those of

55:56

55:56 you listening, Joshua. And the other one

55:57

55:57 was a crow, I guess, a parrot. Uh, and

55:60

55:60 this one, Joshua, his name is Her name

56:02

56:02 is Mass Shell, the matter guardian.

56:06

56:06 >> So, there.

56:07

56:07 >> Oops, I [ __ ] that up.

56:09

56:09 >> Oh, [laughter]

56:09

56:09 >> sorry.

56:11

56:11 >> The octopus uh the turtle actually

56:13

56:13 controls the uh matter, and the octopus

56:16

56:16 can move faster than the speed of light.

56:18

56:18 Sorry. Oh, that would explain the

56:20

56:20 description was different. Okay. Sorry.

56:21

56:21 >> Well, here she is. There she is. Look at

56:23

56:23 that.

56:24

56:24 >> Look at her. She looks pretty cool. She

56:26

56:26 looks like one of those like a legendary

56:28

56:28 turtles, you know, like the one that

56:30

56:30 know everything about the universe.

56:32

56:32 >> And that's what somebody who controls

56:33

56:33 matter should look like.

56:34

56:34 >> There you go. Mass shell. Mass shell.

56:38

56:38 Real name Teresa Shelon

56:42

56:42 is the matter guardian. She can freeze

56:44

56:44 atomic motion, reshape substances, heal

56:46

56:46 and purify matter, changing mass and

56:48

56:48 weight. Controls stat states of ma wait

56:52

56:52 sorry and changes mass and weight

56:54

56:54 controls states of matter. Reverses

56:56

56:56 decay and stabilizes quantum material.

56:59

56:59 Her weaknesses are physical

57:02

57:02 physical slowness, emotional strain,

57:05

57:05 overexertion and power cancelling null

57:08

57:08 zones. Interesting fact, she does not

57:11

57:11 simply move the world. She remakes it

57:15

57:15 >> kind of gal.

57:16

57:16 >> I like that. Joshua, now it's my turn.

57:19

57:19 This is Pendico. Uh,

57:22

57:22 >> this should be easier to read for you as

57:24

57:24 well cuz he's

57:24

57:24 >> You would think that you would think

57:26

57:26 that. There's There's his There he is.

57:29

57:29 >> There's his little There's his little

57:30

57:30 card.

57:30

57:30 >> Panda. Okay. Oh, okay. Rock and roll.

57:33

57:33 >> He's pretty sick. He's a pretty sick

57:34

57:34 one. Pandakcoa's emerald sapphire form.

57:38

57:38 Combines panda strength, snake venom,

57:40

57:40 and koala regeneration. He can summon

57:42

57:42 jade serpents, control forest and poison

57:45

57:45 mist, teleport through nature, heal

57:48

57:48 allies, purify corruption, and crush and

57:51

57:51 crush enemies with seismic attacks. His

57:54

57:54 weaknesses are environmental

57:55

57:55 destruction, high frequency sound, and

57:58

57:58 overloading his jade core. His ultimate

58:00

58:00 power, jade

58:02

58:02 elil,

58:04

58:04 I can't even pronounce that word. Can

58:06

58:06 reshape nature and restore balance

58:08

58:08 across a huge area. So, he's kind of

58:10

58:10 like a healer meets a tank, which is

58:11

58:11 pretty interesting.

58:13

58:13 >> Okay. All right.

58:15

58:15 >> Joshua took the route of doing just one

58:17

58:17 animal. I took the route of putting

58:19

58:19 three animals together. This guy's name

58:22

58:22 is Title Fang, buddy. Look at this guy.

58:24

58:24 There's a badass [ __ ] right

58:26

58:26 there. Look at that.

58:27

58:27 >> That one actually is pretty sick. Not a

58:29

58:29 lie.

58:31

58:31 >> Tidal Fang is a primal tide master

58:34

58:34 combining tiger speed, barracuda

58:36

58:36 agility, and bear strength. He controls

58:39

58:39 water pressure, creates whirlpools, and

58:41

58:41 tidal waves, forms water armor, senses

58:44

58:44 distant vibration as in rapidly adapts

58:47

58:47 to sea or land. His weaknesses are calm

58:49

58:49 water, electromagnetic disruption, and

58:52

58:52 extreme heat. An interesting fact is

58:55

58:55 that he escaped a secret experiment and

58:57

58:57 became a guardian of nature's balance.

58:60

58:60 There he is. And finally, my last one

59:03

59:03 here is Silk Razor, a celestial web

59:06

59:06 lord. So, here he is. Look at that guy.

59:10

59:10 Look at that, buddy. He's [ __ ] He's

59:12

59:12 about to tear you a new one. [snorts]

59:14

59:14 Silk Razor Prime is a celestial web

59:16

59:16 lord. Combining shark power, spider

59:19

59:19 abilities, and moth stealth. It can

59:21

59:21 create dimensional webs and portals,

59:24

59:24 fire armor pitching web lances, uses

59:27

59:27 neurotoxin venom, controls gravity,

59:29

59:29 turns invisible summoning swarms, and

59:32

59:32 rapidly regenerates. Its weaknesses are

59:35

59:35 darkness without lunar energy, extreme

59:38

59:38 heat or electromagnetic pulses, and

59:40

59:40 immersional disruption. An interesting

59:42

59:42 fact is that it can sense and control

59:44

59:44 nearly

59:46

59:46 everything caught within its web domain.

59:49

59:49 So there you go. Those are our six

59:51

59:51 characters that are about to go to

59:52

59:52 battle, buddy, on next week's episode.

59:56

59:56 So, tune in next week to see how those

59:58

59:58 guys play out and who wins this ultimate

60:01

60:01 uh dark energy theater. So, with that

60:05

60:05 being said, buddy, let's get to the end

60:07

60:07 of this [ __ ] episode. Let's do some

60:09

60:09 fun finds, lucky numbers, and send the

60:10

60:10 people home at a reasonable time.

60:13

60:13 >> The rap this is going to be the rapid

60:15

60:15 fire end of this podcast. All right,

60:17

60:17 Sean, we've been hitting everybody with

60:18

60:18 fun finds forundred and basically 45

60:21

60:21 episodes. Um, I do have a fun find and

60:24

60:24 it was a value find. And if you don't

60:27

60:27 know about this Funco, I didn't either

60:30

60:30 when I bought it. Um, but I bought it

60:32

60:32 anyways because it was at a good price

60:35

60:35 at like 14 bucks. So, I found this

60:38

60:38 little guy right here. Do you know, have

60:39

60:39 you seen this show, Sean?

60:42

60:42 >> I haven't seen the show, but I have

60:43

60:43 heard of the show. Okay, so Simon uh

60:46

60:46 Basset, this guy right here. Um I've

60:49

60:49 never seen the show. Um but apparently

60:51

60:51 this was a 14 like dollar buy, but guess

60:55

60:55 what, Sean? I came out on top

60:58

60:58 >> because on eBay the last listed price

61:01

61:01 was around $3525.

61:04

61:04 That's not bad.

61:05

61:05 >> So fun find value find. Um never seen

61:08

61:08 the show. don't know much about it, but

61:11

61:11 apparently people love this thing and it

61:14

61:14 uh if you can find it, pick it up

61:15

61:15 because uh it's worth more than uh what

61:18

61:18 you'll pay for it currently.

61:20

61:20 >> You can find it for 15 bucks.

61:21

61:21 >> Yeah, if you can find it.

61:22

61:22 >> Yeah, for 15 bucks. So, uh there you go,

61:24

61:24 man. That was my fun find. And um was a

61:27

61:27 value find as well. So, uh

61:29

61:29 >> there you go. That's what I got. What

61:30

61:30 you got for a fun?

61:31

61:31 >> Let me show you Let me show you all what

61:33

61:33 I got here. Uh Joshua, when we went to

61:36

61:36 Banebridge in Seattle over there, uh we

61:38

61:38 found this artist. I [ __ ] forgot who

61:41

61:41 the artist was, but I just want to show

61:42

61:42 it off anyway because I think you're

61:44

61:44 going to like them. So, we first found

61:46

61:46 these postcards, and Joshua, I think

61:49

61:49 you'll get a kick out of some of these.

61:50

61:50 So, this is Bryce Canyon. These are all

61:53

61:53 postcards of national parks.

61:56

61:56 >> I've been there.

61:57

61:57 >> Oh, I know. I'm showing you all the ones

61:58

61:58 you've been to. Well, most of them.

61:60

61:60 >> I've been there.

62:01

62:01 >> Mhm. And finally, this one right here.

62:04

62:04 So, I have a whole bunch more.

62:05

62:05 >> Oh, man.

62:06

62:06 >> There's a whole bunch of these. There's

62:07

62:07 like 32 of these cards. But I wanted to

62:10

62:10 show you what these were, right? Because

62:13

62:13 at that same shop, they actually had

62:16

62:16 bigger prints, bigger signed prints,

62:18

62:18 buddy. Uh, and we bought one. We bought

62:21

62:21 one specifically for one reason. So,

62:24

62:24 they're numbered and they're signed. So,

62:27

62:27 this is the print that we bought, which

62:28

62:28 I didn't show. Kind of stand back here a

62:31

62:31 little bit. Okay. Olympic. Got it.

62:33

62:33 >> Olympic. There you go.

62:36

62:36 >> But this is signed at the very bottom

62:38

62:38 right here, buddy. On the very, very

62:40

62:40 bottom side right here.

62:41

62:41 >> It's not numbered, Joshua. It's not

62:44

62:44 numbered. This is a signed uh they call

62:47

62:47 it an AP. Do you know what an AP is,

62:50

62:50 buddy?

62:51

62:51 >> No idea. So, an AP in terms of art like

62:55

62:55 this, this is an artist proof, which

62:57

62:57 means that this one was the one that the

63:00

63:00 artist looked at and agreed was the one

63:03

63:03 to go to print for every other one.

63:05

63:05 >> So, back in the day, these AP prints

63:08

63:08 used to be very rare and very unique.

63:11

63:11 Um, they still have some merit, which is

63:14

63:14 really cool, but they're they're not as

63:16

63:16 like rare as they used to be anymore.

63:18

63:18 But, it's still a really cool find. And

63:20

63:20 so I was so happy that we got this one.

63:23

63:23 So it's going to go in our art section

63:26

63:26 of the house over here, but uh it's I

63:28

63:28 just wanted to show this guy off. Uh I

63:30

63:30 can't remember the [ __ ] name. So next

63:32

63:32 week I'll get the name and [ __ ] or I'll

63:33

63:33 have Mia put the name somewhere over

63:34

63:34 here. Uh but yeah, there you go, buddy.

63:37

63:37 Let's do some fortunes. Let's get some

63:39

63:39 lucky numbers out of here and then we'll

63:40

63:40 get the [ __ ] people out.

63:42

63:42 >> All right. Uh if you missed last week's

63:44

63:44 episode, uh you will be disappointed

63:45

63:45 because we have no more dirty dozen

63:49

63:49 fortunes. This is sad. We cannot get

63:51

63:51 dirty anymore unless I buy more or

63:54

63:54 unless Misfortune comes through and

63:56

63:56 hooks us up, which that would be

63:57

63:57 awesome. I mean, these things don't cost

63:59

63:59 much. So, if you just sent a bag over or

64:01

64:01 DM'd us, that'd be great. Um, that'd be

64:04

64:04 cool. We would definitely continue to

64:05

64:05 shout it out, that'd be awesome. Um, so

64:07

64:07 all I have left is the boozy one, which

64:09

64:09 is fitting because I did a brand new

64:10

64:10 drink tonight and it's perfect. So,

64:13

64:13 let's hit it with a boozy fortune. And

64:16

64:16 uh hopefully this boozy is not a doozy.

64:19

64:19 And it sucks because uh we cannot end

64:24

64:24 all these fortunes

64:26

64:26 on a boring one or not so good. Or maybe

64:29

64:29 it it'll be empty. I have no idea.

64:31

64:31 >> I mean it would be fitting if it was

64:33

64:33 empty. If

64:34

64:34 >> it was empty, that'd be that'd be

64:36

64:36 tragic. But we are in luck because there

64:38

64:38 actually is a fortune inside everybody.

64:41

64:41 Thank you, Misfortune, for coming

64:42

64:42 through.

64:43

64:43 >> Um all right, Sean. Here you go,

64:45

64:45 audience, everybody listening, and if

64:47

64:47 you're watching, uh here we go. Here is

64:50

64:50 your misfortune for episode uh 145,

64:52

64:52 August 4th.

64:54

64:54 A pair of new shoes is in your future. A

64:58

64:58 clumsy. Okay. Okay. Clumsily.

65:02

65:02 >> We haven't had a [ __ ] up in a long time.

65:04

65:04 [laughter]

65:05

65:05 >> Clumsily. Clum. Clumsily. Is that a

65:07

65:07 word? Clumsily.

65:08

65:08 >> Yes.

65:09

65:09 >> Okay. [ __ ] I've haven't Okay.

65:11

65:11 Vocabulary. Don't have that word in

65:13

65:13 there. Now I do. Um, okay. Here you go.

65:17

65:17 Let's see this again. A pair of new

65:21

65:21 shoes in your fortune after clumsily

65:24

65:24 urinating behind a dumpster.

65:30

65:30 A pair of new shoes. Have you clumsily

65:33

65:33 urinated on your new shoes?

65:35

65:35 >> You going wild back there, bro. You're

65:36

65:36 going wild with the

65:38

65:38 >> Last fortune was clumsily red. Hey, look

65:43

65:43 at you. Using your new word.

65:46

65:46 >> I know, right? Don't ask me to spell it.

65:48

65:48 >> I can only read it at this point. Uh,

65:50

65:50 there you go, everybody. Hope you

65:51

65:51 enjoyed that one, even though I screwed

65:53

65:53 it up. Um, Sean, numbers. What do we

65:55

65:55 got?

65:55

65:55 >> Lucky numbers. Seven of them. Use them

65:57

65:57 for whatever nefarious reasons you would

65:59

65:59 like. They are as followed. 5, 35, 40,

66:02

66:02 61, 65, 10, and 21. Once again, your

66:05

66:05 seven lucky numbers are 5, 35, 40, 61,

66:09

66:09 65, 10, and 21. Let us know if you win

66:13

66:13 anything. And if you do, maybe share

66:14

66:14 some of that love in the merch store.

66:17

66:17 Joshua, we have come to the end of this

66:19

66:19 episode. And like we do every week,

66:22

66:22 Joshua's going to give you guys a little

66:23

66:23 bit of uh Monday motivation, little

66:25

66:25 Monday monologue, if you will. Uh I

66:28

66:28 usually set the stage for him by saying,

66:30

66:30 "Every day is a new adventure. Every day

66:32

66:32 is a new reason to get up, buddy. of

66:34

66:34 your day is a new chance at delivering

66:38

66:38 something that someone is going to take

66:40

66:40 home and love. So, what do you got to

66:43

66:43 say to the people this week, buddy?

66:45

66:45 >> That sounds like something I would say.

66:46

66:46 Um, but for this Monday, I just want to

66:48

66:48 wish everybody because it's a new month

66:50

66:50 and this is my birthday month. This is

66:52

66:52 my girlfriend's birthday month. I just

66:54

66:54 want to start the week off by telling

66:56

66:56 everybody happy birthday. Let's start

66:59

66:59 this week off. Let's have a great week.

67:00

67:00 Happy birthday, everybody. Um, check us

67:03

67:03 out on next week's episode 146. We have

67:06

67:06 an awesome um dark energy fight coming

67:10

67:10 up. Uh, so check that out. Check out the

67:13

67:13 website surflay.live and again, thank

67:16

67:16 you to all the new subscribers and we

67:17

67:17 will see you next week. Love all you

67:19

67:19 guys.

67:19

67:19 >> Hell yeah, dude. Couldn't have said

67:21

67:21 better myself. Let's just [ __ ] get

67:22

67:22 this episode out of the way. Joshua, did

67:24

67:24 you hear about the berry that got run

67:27

67:27 over?

67:28

67:28 >> No, did not. Dude, it caused a traffic

67:32

67:32 jam.

67:34

67:34 Ladies and gentlemen, we will see you

67:36

67:36 next week. A deuces.

68:02

68:02 A big old episode for everybody. For

68:04

68:04 those of you watching this portion, you

68:05

68:05 already saw the episode, so [ __ ] off.

68:09

68:09 >> God, the way you talk to the people that

68:11

68:11 watch us. Jesus.

68:12

68:12 >> That'll make it this far, buddy. That'll

68:13

68:13 make it this far.

68:14

68:14 >> It's fine.

68:14

68:14 >> I treat everybody like a [ __ ]

68:16

68:16 somebody you used to know.

68:18

68:18 >> Jesus [laughter] Christ.

68:21

68:21 I mean, in reality, they're people I've

68:24

68:24 never met, so they are kind of like

68:26

68:26 people I used to know because they're

68:28

68:28 just ghosts at this point now, you know?

68:30

68:30 >> Jesus, it's like a commercial in your

68:32

68:32 life. They're there one minute and gone

68:33

68:33 the next

68:34

68:34 >> and gone the next. But hey, we love you.

68:36

68:36 >> Hey, every friend is a [ __ ] short.

68:39

68:39 >> Every friend is a short Joshua. I'm

68:41

68:41 sorry, buddy. This is uh we're 30

68:42

68:42 seconds in and I gota I got to send you

68:44

68:44 out now. You know, you're done. You're

68:45

68:45 done, [laughter]

68:46

68:46 >> right? Thanks. So, let me uh let me do a

68:49

68:49 clap and not get the clap.
